Sleeping With the Enemy (Ryu and Akri) [Mature ReixYuu]

The ground was soft and damp from the rain the night before, the forest was alive with little critters that chirped and sang to one another, chattered and hammered. Reita's eyes darted around as he listened to each calling specifically, sighing gently. He'd taken the time to get away from his duties if only for a moment and had taken a walk into the forest to the side of his little cave where his pack had dug in deep and were living for now.

Something was happening though. Far off to the west he could hear the calls of the townsmen following after something... or someone rather. He paid it no mind, though. Although the forest was his, and his pack and the men had an agreement to keep it that way, they often chased off the evildoers into his territory. It made for good hunting and eating for his own kind, or to recruit, but something about this was itching at him. He didn't really know what it was yet, but something just wasn't the same. The men were fearful, yes. That he could smell. Angry, yes, that too, but something else. Something else just didn't sit well with him. Something not of man was headed straight for them. He stood up on all fours then, growling softly, his eyes glowing. He hoped that the other's would hear him soon and back him up should a fight break out.

He began to see the little flickers of fire within the dense tree trunks, the shouting was loud and most of the men were screaming 'monster' and 'devil' mostly. Before he could really notice it, some creature flew past him and was gone in the blink of an eye, but Reita would not stand for the men to come any closer. He howled out a warning to them, but also it was to get the pack's attention. They were all too close and if he didn't do something about it now, there would be a battle on their hands.

He could not say he was happy. Not in the least. A simple scouting mission is what he'd been promised by his king. That's all it was supposed to be. Search out the encroaching threats and see if they needed to be handled. And of course, blasted humans just had to go and make his mission five hundred times worse by sticking their nose in.

All he had done was take a little bite. The woman had OFFERED. It wasn't like he hunted them. They knew him well. They LIVED near him. But catch him feeding had him running off like this every single time, not willing to waste his energy on killing people he usually got along with.

Veering off, he sighed as he caught scent of another rather annoying hindrance. He'd known about the wolf pack for some time. They'd lived in the forest for years now and he'd left them well enough alone. They'd left him in peace as well, in fact he doubted they even knew he existed. Sadly that was about to change as he was headed straight for them. He didn't want too, but if he headed home, his soldiers would feed on the humans in his defense and that would solve nothing. Breaking through the trees, he rushed past a wolf, his eyes flickering only a moment to the right to catch sight of him as he hurried past them one by one. He'd let them deal with the humans. It'd be better that way.

Reita slowly circled around to the spear head of the group, the other pack alphas coming up behind him, as a few others came in around the sides. They all started to howl, warning the men to stop and listen. The leader began to hear the yelling die down and fear began to overtake the others, as Reita smiled. He motioned for the first two wolves at his side to move forwards, but gave the signal for all the rest to hang back, until he gave further ques.

The leader of the men came forth first. He was a large man, Nordic in decent, with dirty blonde hair, and one blind eye. He was a beast of men, but to Reita, really posed little to no threat. Slowly, the wolf transformed into his human skin, his lupine fur shedding off in tufts, as he did. "What is the meaning of this breech in our agreement, Thrane?" Reita asked, agitated, as the other grunted. Reita had the same blondish hair, though it was slightly lighter, but his frame was thinner than Thrane's, and the man seemed to be unable to comprehend that the true beast blood in Reita's veins made him that much more dangerous.

"We are hunting a bloodsucking betrayer!" He growled, many of the men yelling in unison of this offense. "He is hiding beyond you and he will face our justice for going against our own agreement with his kind." He finished, as Reita smiled rather deviously. "And you thought you could disregard our own agreement for this... Bloodsucker? Our laws are clear. One able bodied man per breach, and the rest of you shall return home with escort safely."

He looked behind him, however, motioning for one of the wolves in the back to go check on the pack. He was unaware that bloodsuckers were in their woods. He knew what they were, but he had not been alerted by their presence, until now. He wanted to make sure that the rest of the pack was at the ready.

He looked back at the other then, his eyes slowly starting to look over the young men. He needed a new scouter, so he walked closer, touching at Thrane's broad arm to silently warn him to move to the side. "We'll take that one." He said, motioning for the young man to come forth. "What is your name?" He asked, looking into the others eyes, as Thrane huffed, puffing up slightly, "You mean to take my only nephew?" He growled, as Reita cut his eyes to the other. "Yes, I have chosen, now go back to your camping grounds and leave my kind in peace..." He growled, taking the other by the arm and pulling him around, the other wolves growling and moving in to drive the men all back home.

Yuu darted carefully through the pack only stopping once beyond the main group. Leaping into a tree, he settled into a crouch on one of the branches. Looking back the direction he'd come from, he focused his eyes on the humans that had been chasing him. Tilting his head, he let his senses focus in on the group, listening carefully. It was better to get all the information he could while he had the chance. There was no way the wolves would be calm now that they knew his kind were near.

It amused him almost. Wolves had served their kind for so long, yet now they decided to rebel. He honestly didn't under...well that wasn't true. After seeing how his sire had treated the beasts, he could understand why they had revolted. They would not take kindly to his presence now that they knew he was here, even if he had been here first.

Sighing softly, he shifted and looked up at the sky. The sun would rise soon. He could handle it. Burning that is. He'd been trained thoroughly to get to his station, but that didn't make it pleasant. He'd have to find a place to rest soon. Even with his speed he'd never make it home in time before the sun rise. Then again, finding a safe haven here was just as unlikely. Not with the wolves around.

"Blasted humans," he complained. He had nothing against them in general, but this was a bothersome situation they'd put him in. Looking around he heaved one more sigh before jumping down from the trees. He'd have to find a cave or something, a place to rest.

Reita waited patiently for the others to return from hearding the men back to their village, before he looked to the other that he'd chosen, then looked to his right hand man, nodding. Kai was a thin framed man as well, but he was only slightly slower than Reita in a fight, which only meant anything when one was fighting the alpha leader themself. Kai's hair was in thick black with some sun bleached white dreadlocks, his face was hard and seemed unloving, but in truth, he was very caring to the younger pack members.

He walked over to the new kid and looked him over slowly, before he circled him, taking him in. Kai knew Reita better than most anyone and knew why he'd chosen the boy, but it was his job to question, second guess, then either approve or deny the other of what ever decision he had made.

While Kai was sizing up the new meat, Reita had another task to take care of. He quickly transformed back into his lupine form and began to howl to assemble the others once again, following the particular scent of the bloodsucker. He knew which way the other had been heading, and at the speed he'd been going, he was only going to go one direction; forward. It didn't take him long to find him, either. The wolf giving a low growl as the others began to spread out to push the sucker up against a tree.

Of course treeing the bastard would be the most effective. Reita was well aware that the other wouldn't be too happy in the sunlight, and the dawn was coming fast. He wondered silently if the other's kind really did burn with direct contact in the sun rays, and this curiosity made him give a wolfish grin. The only safe haven for the creature would be Reita and his packs' den. He would have to chose now between the tree or the den and it made Reita tilt his head in a happy yelp that made the others call out as well, some of them snapping at the vampires' torn clothing and legs.

Baku shifted under the harsh stares of the wolves. He wanted to run. Every bone in his body was telling him to do so. But then again, his Uncle had breached the contract. He knew he shouldn't have come with them. The moment they'd started into the marked land, everything in him had wanted to turn back, but he'd stupidly followed. ".....what are you going to do with me?" he asked softly as he cast a quick glance over his shoulder. He couldn't even hear the others anymore. Apparently they really were going to let the wolves have him.

Yuu sighed looking around. He hadn't gotten far. Not in the least before the wolves were there. So many years he'd gone without them knowing of them, without them knowing the truth. Damn those humans. This was going to end up far more complicated than it need to be and all because of them.

Glancing up at the sky, he sighed. He could survive, but it wouldn't be pleasant. Burning was never pleasant. It was a pain no vampire ever truly forgot. Even now he could feel the reminders of every burn he'd ever received. "Must you continue to snarl like unintelligent rabble. I'm sure there must be an intelligent one among you," he muttered. He truly did despise when people lacked proper etiquette. He'd done nothing to any of them to deserve the treatment he'd received.

Kai looked to the younger one and smiled, "First we are going to give you the gift of our ancestors... Then you will be broken and remade. We will train you and you will join our ranks as a pack member." He said softly, running his hand up the other's back slowly, feeling out his strength. Just as he thought, the boy would be a good scouter... Of course, as mentioned, with the proper training. "Leave thoughts of home behind. You will never be aloud to see it again. Not as the human boy you are. As a pack member, you will be under contract with the humans and as long as we do not set foot in the village, they will stay out of our forest. The forest is your home now."

Reita snarled at the other, but he had to admit he was right. They were dogs, but they were human, as well. He transformed into his humanoid form then, stepping forwards and gripped the other by his collar, shoving him back againat the tree. "We don't take kindly to any that share the blood of the monsters that enslaved and tortured our kind. We know you all are still searching for new slaves." He hissed, gritting his teeth, his muscles flexing a little. He should kill him now, while the other was still in his grasp, but instead, he went against his better judgement and motioned for the others to come forth. "The man wants hospitality... Bring him to the caves." He said, turning on his heals, and leading the group, with the bloodsucker in their grasp to the mouth of the cave.

He had them wait outside, knowing that the sun was already starting to touch at the trees to the far east. The forest was so dense, it wouldn't touch them yet, but he knew the sky would be lightening, and he could only hope it was making their unwelcomed guest nervous.

The leader stole away into his own cavern and uncovered some chain that he had been given by his father. It was heavy and dark, but he had taken care of it as his father had taught him. Bringing it out, he had the wolves press the vampire up to the stake that they used to break their omegas at, and he began to tie the blessed iron around the other man tightly. "You may be just passing through, but we will not take any chances with your kind, bloodsucker." He said, pulling away, the others calling for more, but he silenced them slowly. "Let the sun do its work. Go about your day." He commanded.

Baku pulled away from Kai's touch, shooting him a glare. He did not like this one bit. He already realized no one was going to come take him. They'd left him behind to willingly. On the other hand, he did NOT want to be touched by them. This was basically no better than kidnapping in his opinion.

"Don't touch me dog," he grumbled. "I don't want to be here. The last thing I want is to be touched by one of you."

Yuu resisted rolling his eyes. They'd at least turned human, but that was the most he could say. Even with them talking, they were still acting like nothing more than feral dogs. The wolves he had at home would honestly be ashamed of this rabble.

Letting them lead him along, he put up no fight as he was placed and chained. It seemed even as rabble, they had some treasures. He could guess this much by the scorching flesh on his wrists. Damned blessed chains. They hurt like hell. But once glance at the sky told him this was the least of his problems. They were going to let him burn. "Well...damn.." he grumbled. "I should have just gone home."

Kai looked to the other a little surprised, but at the same time, he couldn't blame the boy. The men really had just seemed to have abandoned him, but the boy had probably never seen what the pack had done a few years ago to the group when they hadn't complied with the pack's wishes. He took a few respectful steps back, but his eyes grew yellow as he slowly transformed into his parahuman form to gain some height. "Men... take this man to the caverns..." He said, moving his head, hearing the rest of the pack off in the distance.

Slowly, he made his way through the trees, looking back every once in a while to make sure that the other's in their beastial forms still had a good grip on the other, before he looked around, seeing the man starting to smoke a little due to the rising sun. "Blood sucker..." He said under his breath, looking around to see if he could find his leader, but there was no sight of him. He had the others move the boy into the caverns and chain him to the walls there where he would wait until Reita returned.

Reita had decided he'd had enough of outside. The groups were going around as normal, starting to get ready for a hunting trip, and the omegas were tending to the other work. He wanted company... but from only one lover... one he'd had for many years... one he planned to mate with on the next moon. He quickly sniffed out the beta, coming up behind him and running his hands over the other's hips, pulling him into himself. "Hi..." He said with a grin, kissing the man's neck then nuzzled into the groove, holding him close.

He loved the smell of Uruha... the freedom he provided the alpha when they were alone together. The fresh scent of pine clung to him and it gave Reita a bit of a rush. "Fishing, were you?" He asked softly, holding the man closer, looking at the fire just a little bit of ways in the distance.

The vampire was running as fast as he could, despite his ancient blood, he knew that his beautiful fledgling would not be able to withstand direct sunlight without going mad. He'd survive... but not many that did were ever happy about it. Mao jumped over a fallen tree and ordered his men to go around the encampment quickly to create a distraction. He would need most, if not all of the wolves to be out of the way so that he could get to Yuu before the sun actually made any real damage.

When Reita heard the worried cries of his pack, he pulled away from Uruha's arms and kissed him before he ran outside. The sun was still being covered by the trees, but only just. "Now what?" He asked himself before he called for the others, had them transform into their lupine forms and began to bound off into the woods.

Baku jerked himself free of the others hands. He really didn't want them touching him, but he didn't have anywhere to go, so he reluctantly followed after them. He could already guess what they would do and he was honestly...well terrified, but what choice did he have anymore?

Yuu glanced up at the sky again. His fingers were already turning black. It hurt like a bitch, but he would not give them the satisfaction. Holding back a hiss, he twisted his wrist. He needed to get out of the chains or he'd be dust. Sadly, the blessed chains were proving difficult.

Closing his eyes, he let his senses reach out. A dark song was singing through him and it was getting louder by the second. Focusing in on it, he smiled to himself. His sire. He was coming. It seemed he'd be saved if they got here in time and knowing his sire, they would. Mao was a dark and very twisted man, but he certainly did everything within his power to keep him safe.

Uruha pouted a little. Reita had just returned and the moment he thought they could finally have a moment, those blasted wolves started howling. How could they continue to court if his alpha was always off running?! Grumbling softly to himself, he accepted the kiss. "Make it fast. You haven't been to bed in weeks." They hadn't finished the mating, but just having Reita close always was preferable in his opinion.

With the others out of the way, Mao closed in and slipped closer to the cavern opening. He could still hear younger wolves inside, and feel them moving about, but their strength was nothing in comparison to his own. He would slaughter them if they got in his way.

With his advanced speed, he slipped up against the pole and immediately grabbed hold of the chains, screaming suddenly as his hands poured out smoke. That was the problem with being older. Blessed metal did more damage while the sun did less. "Damn them..." He hissed, leaning up and kissing Yuu gently to let him know he was in safe company. "I am going to get you out my love..." He said softly before he took a deep breath and grabbed the chains again, hissing as he forced the metal apart, dropping it to the ground as it gave way easily and he took Yuu into his arms, looking around and quickly moved into the shade of the hill, holding him down against the ground.

They didn't have much time. There was only one for sure safe refuge from the sun, and it would be in the midst of enemies. He grabbed Yuu up into himself again, however, and began running away from it, making sure to keep to the shade of the trees. He could hear the wolves coming after them again, but his eyes were searching. He'd seen it while running this way once before and he silently rejoiced when he saw it again.

What ever animal had made the tunnel had long since died, and it was just deep enough to hide the pair of them. Of course the dogs would try to get through, but Mao could easily pile up their corpses at the mouth of the hole for better protection from the sun.

When him and his fledgling were securely within the hole, he waited, holding Yuu close before he kissed his neck gently. "Drink from me, my love... you need your strength... we will have to wait until the sun sets..." He whispered, happy that the wolves seemed confused and lost, growling and grunting like the animals they were and searching for a trail that didn't exist.

Reita had known something was fishy when he'd heard the noises, but it was when he found the body of one of his fallen comrades that he knew they were being misled to distract from camp. Leaving the body behind sorrowfully, Reita urged his men to forget about what ever or who ever had done the killing and had them double back.

His first instinct was to check inside the caves, but it seemed that the others were safe and that the vampires had not sought refuge here. The first thing he had noticed, was of course that the one they'd caught was gone, the chains broken. It concerned him because the iron was not made of just any normal forge iron, it meant they were dealing with someone a lot stronger and older than the vampire they'd had originally.

He had a search party rallied and running about searching for the two, maybe three vampires, but when they thought they had something, it was lost again. They searched for hours, knowing that the two wouldn't have been able to run back to where ever it was they had come from. "They had to have buried themselves somewhere... look for shallow graves... fresh dirt... anything." He growled, as he huffed, sniffing about himself, trying to find any sign of their intent.

It wasn't until he'd passed the same old badger hole, that he realized a particular scent. He wasn't stupid enough to stick his head into the hole, but he laid off to the side where he couldn't be seen and waited patiently until the sun would set, to see if they would come out, unaware that the other was waiting for them.

Yuu had been silent the entire time. He'd felt his master. He'd sensed his kind. He'd heard the wolves, smelled their blood. He could smell his flesh burning. The metal and the sun was singing him, and he watched in morbid fascination as his skin charred and bubbled, falling away in ash. Anyone lesser would be screaming in agony, but he was a soldier. He could feel every searing second, but he simply couldn't seem to make his mind register any of it.

He'd watched in silence as his creator had freed him. He stayed silent as he was carried away. It had been a long time since he'd allowed himself to be put through such things. To suffer like that. It had taken more out of him than he'd thought. Forcing his body to heal while it was burning alive was a lot harder than he'd remembered, so he couldn't have been more thankful when he'd been pulled into a smaller tunnel, safe from the light. He could feel his body healing much faster now that he was free of the sunlight. Finally freeing his senses, he shifted closer to his sire. Wrapping his arms around him, he leaned up and sank his fangs into his neck, drinking greedily. The taste of blood had always been something special to him. Even more so if tainted by a vampire. His sire's blood was like a drug. He'd never been able to resist it. So he drank. Closing his eyes, he let his senses burst around them as he fed, taking in every sound.

A heartbeat.
Thump. Thump thump.
He could hear every pump. Hear the blood rushing through a warm body. The dirt masked the scent, but soon enough he could scent the dog. A wolf. That damn wolf with the chains. He was going to make him suffer for this. He'd just started kicking his addiction to his sire and because of that damned wolf, he was right back where he'd started.

The sire sighed softly, not realizing how much he'd missed the other latched onto him, taking what he wanted... what he needed. The connection between a sire and a fledgling by sharing the blood was only best compared to a mother nursing her child. But that ended eventually. He would never have to make Yuu stop... and he honestly never wanted to.

He whispered soft things to the other as best as he could, running his fingers through the other's hair, as he looked out towards the opening. He knew very well that the wolf was out there. As soon as Yuu had connected his teeth to his skin, his body reacted in such a way that he felt he would need more blood. He could see the other if he tried, watching the red blood pumping through that strong heart of his.

"Don't worry, pet... we'll have him... and I will let you do what ever you wish with him..." He said, petting the other's head again, kissing his forehead.

When the sun had finally sunken far enough behind the trees, Mao shifted, getting his legs ready before he ran out of the hole, straight towards the wolf.

Reita had been patiently waiting, though he had terribly misinterpreted the situation. Of course he'd never really had to fight blood suckers, he'd only ever been told of the powers that the elders had known about. So when the older vampire came out towards him, the only thing he could do was dodge and roll away, trying to keep his eyes on the elder and the hole for his previous prize.

Yuu had fed until it felt as if he would burst, reluctantly pulling his teeth free of cool skin as he tried to ignore the lust racing through his system. It wasn't safe and he knew it, so instead of sinking further into his addiction, he closed his eyes to sleep through the rest of his healing as the sun burned in the sky.

When Yuu finally stirred, he could feel the air cooling around them, a sign of the fading sun. Blinking his eyes open in a slightly drugged stupor, he felt his sire shifting against him. It took him a moment to finally gather more of his consciousness to the forefront beyond the craving to once again sink his teeth in the man's neck; but just as that thought entered his mind, Mao was bolting from the hideaway and he was left on his own.

Rolling over, he crawled out of the hole at a more human pace, raising himself sluggishly to his feet. An idle thought brushed through his mind as he shifted to stare at his master and that wolf. It was that wolfs fault, his fault this part of himself was awake again, the soldier. Relaxing, he stared emotionlessly at the sight before him before strolling towards the men. "Leave us now Mao. He is mine," he murmured his voice as dead as his heartbeat. "Gather the rest and take them to my home. I will join you shortly."

The other starred at his fledgling for a good while, but he knew if he didn't do as he'd asked, that Yuu would get testy. It wasn't much of a threat to the older vampire, but he didn't feel like getting into it with the other, either. Slowly nodding, he backed away, the wolf barring his teeth at him, before he turned on the other vampire instead. Mao hoped that his previous lover would be able to handle himself against the pack leader, but he sprinted across the forest grounds, making a beacon out of himself, the others joining him from the ground they'd hidden themselves under and they raced back to the grounds of the castle where Yuu's servants and own wolves waited for their master's return.

Reita growled in warning, barring his teeth again, before he darted forwards opening his mouth to howl out. He was going to destroy the other. Those were his intentions anyway, as he leapt up into the air and aimed for the creature's throat.
